The other day a co-worker of mine got angry with me because I gave someone
a pair of pants that she wanted. I didn't give the pants away for meanness, I
simply didn't know that my co-worker wanted the pants. There wasn't a note
attached to the pants, and I wasn't told by her or anyone else that these partic-
ular pants were important. I kind of stood there in a strange disbelief as she
questioned me over and over as if I had planned this entire scenario out. I began
to feel guilty and then I wondered why. I didn't give her pants away on purpose.
I tried not to think about the stupid pants anymore.
The next time I saw my co-worker she had calmed down considerably, and she
told me that she could replace the pants. The strange thing is, she continued to
talk to me as if our awkward and negative conversation had never occurred. I
guess that was her version of an apology.
No matter how you live your life or what you do or don't do, every now and then
you're going to make someone angry. But you can't worry about it. All you need
to do is make sure that you try to live your life in a positive way.
